Fuel estimate
Actual cost can change with traffic, terrain, weather, driving speed, vehicle load and local fuel prices.
This is a planning estimate, not a live fuel-price quote. Check the vehicle’s real-world efficiency and current local prices before departure.
Fuel-cost formula and example
Metric mode uses liters per 100 kilometers. US mode divides miles by miles per gallon. Selecting a return journey doubles the one-way distance before calculating fuel.
Calculation formulas
- Metric fuel needed = distance × L/100km ÷ 100
- US gallons needed = distance ÷ MPG
- Total fuel cost = fuel needed × price per liter or gallon
- Cost per person = total fuel cost ÷ travelers
For a 500 km one-way trip with the return journey selected, total distance is 1,000 km. At 7.5 L/100km the car needs 75 L. At 1.70 per liter, total fuel cost is 127.50 and two travelers pay 63.75 each.
Planning limits
Tolls, parking, charging, rental fees and accommodation are not included. The currency option only changes the symbol; it does not convert prices. Use one consistent currency and the vehicle’s real-world efficiency.
